------By Anthony Iboyitie (Warri) 17/07/2021.
It has been revealed how Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy President of the Senate scammed Chief Benard Okumagba of three billion naira.
According to a source close to Chief Okumagba, (the MD designate of the illegally constituted and screened NDDC board, that was disbanded by President Buhari), the DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, collected a whooping sum of three billion naira from Chief Okumagba, to recommend and ensure he was made the Managing Director of the NDDC.
According to the report, the DSP Ovie Omo-Agege claimed the money was for him to settle some cabals at the presidency, for the appointment to be approved, while he would ensure the Senate screened him with easy
In the said arrangements, the DSP has it in black and white with Chief Benard Okumagba on the percentage kickback that would accrue to him, Ovie Omo-Agege, from every contract that would be executed by the NDDC, While his proxies will front for him to execute some of the contracts.
It was also on record that before any major contract would be approved by Chief Benard Okumagba, it must be with the consent of Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege.
Another agreement reached by the duo was that, 80% of the Aides to Chief Okumagba would come from Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, this was why he already gave out the various Aide positions to his boys, even before Chief Okumagba would be sworn in.
The aforementioned, accounts for Mr. Tuoyo Mabiaku's appointment as a personal Assistant to Chief Benard Okumagba, on youth matters, as was revealed by one miss Princess from Delta State, who revealed that Mr. Tuoyo Mabiaku is Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege's boy that led the team of thugs that invaded the NASS, to steal the mace.
According to the inside source who pleaded anonymity, when the illegally constituted and screened NDDC board was canceled by president Buhari, and seeing that it was not going to be possible again for that canceled board to be reconstituted and sworn-in , Chief Benard Okumagba, then demanded for the refund of the three billion naira bribe Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege collected from him.
From the report, the DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, claimed the money has already been used to settle certain persons in the presidency.
Seeing that Agege was not willing to refund the money, Benard then reported it to his elder sister, who according to reports helped Chief Okumagba to raise that money through loans.
Chief Okumagba's elder sister then went to Sen. Omo-Agege's house to fight him, that he must return the money since the appointment didn't scale through, this issue became a very big embarrassment to the Deputy President of the Senate, who knew if this goes out to the public, would dent his reputation.
At this point, the Deputy Senate President has to humble himself to avoid this information leaking out, he then promised to fight back to make sure the canceled illegally screened board, is reconstituted to save his face. That is why he has been fighting so despirately, to remove Sen. Akpabio from the Niger-Delta Ministry, so he could have his way through whoever will replace Sen. Akpabio, since Akpabio is already aware of his plans to milk the NDDC dry and would not allow him to have his way in the NDDC.
Today the DSP Ovie Omo-Agege's reputation is seating on a keg of gunpowder, if he fails to secure the reappointment of Chief Okumagba, as the NDDC boss, then he would be ready to vomit the three billion naira immediately, or I'm sure he would not dare step his feet in Warri again, because it will be an open war of thuggery and diabolism.
As we await the Constitution of a new NDDC board, we use this opportunity to plead with the Senate President to advise his deputy, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege to please start raising the money, so should Chief Okumagba miss the appointment, he would have the money handy and refund their money to save his face and perhaps save the residents of Warri, that may suffer the consequences of the actions of their thugs.
